# Plans & Billing

CoreReflex comes in four tiers — **Free**, **Pro**, **Ultra**, and **Enterprise**. Every tier gives you the same governed pipeline (direct a film, produce native-4K shots, voice it, score it, edit and master it on a real timeline). What changes between tiers is the polish on the way out — clean exports with no watermark, how many credits you get, how much you can take with you, how much you can store, whether your work can stay private, and whether the Pro+ suites (client operations, Brand Studio, Proofing, Personas) are switched on.

This page is for buyers choosing a plan. It explains what each tier unlocks, how credits and storage work in plain terms, and gives an honest account of how billing is turned on.

## The four tiers at a glance

| Capability | Free | Pro | Ultra | Enterprise |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Direct, produce, voice, score, edit, master | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Watermark on exports | Yes — CoreReflex brand mark | No — clean | No — clean | No — clean |
| Exports per month | 5 | 100 | 500 | Unlimited |
| Included storage | 1 GB | 25 GB | 100 GB | 500 GB |
| Included credits (paid term) | — | 1,000 / seat | 5,000 / seat | 10,000 |
| Custom workflows | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Full ops event log | Basic | Full | Full + member filters | Full + member filters |
| Private generation (no public gallery) | No | No | No | Yes |
| Client operations / Brand / Proofing / Personas | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Domain whitelist / SSO / usage controls | No | No | No | Yes |

A few notes that the table can't carry:

- **Watermark.** On Free, a finished export carries the CoreReflex brand mark. Upgrading to Pro, Ultra, or Enterprise removes it.
- **Seat-pooled credits.** Pro and Ultra multiply included credits by seats (the team shares the admin pool). Enterprise credits are sold as fixed 10k blocks and do **not** multiply by seat.
- **Private generation.** Enterprise can mark generated work as private so it stays out of the shared public gallery. Free, Pro, and Ultra use the normal gallery model; everything is still workspace-scoped.
- **Storage stacks.** Every plan's included storage can be extended with one-time +50 GB storage bundles — see [One-time add-ons](#one-time-add-ons-extra-storage-and-extra-credits).

## What each tier is for

### Free

Free is the full creative studio with three guardrails: exports are watermarked, you can take up to **5 exports a month**, and you get **1 GB of storage** for your uploaded and generated files. It's built for trying the pipeline end to end — brief the director, produce shots, voice and score them, cut them on the timeline, and see a finished result. The Pro+ suites (client operations, Brand Studio, Proofing, Personas) stay off; vendor AI lanes (Veo, Kling, etc.) require Pro or higher.

### Pro

Pro is the working tier for a marketer, founder, or small agency. It removes the watermark so every export is clean, lifts your monthly exports to **100** and your storage to **25 GB**, and switches on the Pro suites — the white-label **client-operations** suite (native CRM, public booking on your own domain, tasks, automations), **Brand Studio**, **Proofing**, and **Persona Studio**. On a paid term it carries **1,000 included credits per seat** for metered AI work.

### Ultra

Ultra sits between Pro and Enterprise for power creators shipping every week. It includes everything in Pro, plus **5,000 included credits per seat** (5× Pro), **500 exports / month**, **100 GB** storage, full ops logging with **team member filters**, and the same custom-workflow access as Pro. It does **not** include Enterprise private mode, domain whitelist, or org SSO.

### Enterprise

Enterprise is Ultra plus governance. It adds **private generation** (work can be kept out of the public gallery), **unlimited exports**, **500 GB of storage**, a pool of **10,000 included credits**, domain whitelist, and org controls. It's the tier for teams that need output to stay private, libraries large, and throughput uncapped.

## What Pro and up unlocks

These features check your plan and open on **Pro, Ultra, or Enterprise**:

- **Client operations** — the native CRM, public booking pages, tasks, and automations, all on your own brand. Covered in [Client Operations](client-operations.md).
- **Brand Studio** — the brand layer. Create a brand, generate and approve logos, voice, and palette, upload brand photos, and link projects so they inherit the approved kit. Brand generation and the brand board are Pro-gated; on Free you'll see an upgrade notice instead.
- **Proofing** — share a deliverable with a client over a tokenized review link; they comment and approve or request changes without needing an account. Creating and managing proofs is Pro-gated (the client's review link itself needs no plan). Covered in [Proofing & Approvals](proofing-and-approvals.md).
- **Persona Studio** — consent-gated talking-head personas with cloned voices.
- **Knowledge base search** — search your workspace's ingested knowledge base.

On Free, these areas respond with a clear "this is a Pro feature — upgrade to enable" message rather than silently failing.

## Credits and metered usage, explained simply

Most of what you do in CoreReflex carries no per-use charge. The operations that are genuinely expensive to run — generating video, rendering finished files, generating music, images, or speech, and the AI editing and writing helpers — are **metered in credits**: each run draws a fixed number of credits from your account's balance.

Think of credits like a prepaid meter shared across your whole workspace. Your paid plan tops the meter up (Pro 1,000, Enterprise 10,000), it draws down as you run those operations, and renewals refill it. You can also buy one-time top-ups — see [One-time add-ons](#one-time-add-ons-extra-storage-and-extra-credits).

Here is what each metered operation costs:

| Operation | What it is | Credits |
|---|---|---|
| Video generation | Generate one AI shot from a prompt (the primary video engine) | 100 per shot |
| Video generation — alternate engine | Some workflows can route video to a second engine | 60 per shot |
| Video persona render | Render a clip of a talking-head persona speaking a line | 120 per clip |
| Music generation | Generate a mood-driven soundtrack | 20 per track |
| Image generation | Generate a still, logo concept, or likeness reference | 5 per image |
| AI image editing | Generative fill, erase, or expand on the canvas | 6 per edit |
| Voice and speech | Voiceover synthesis, designed voices, per-clip voiceovers | 5 per synthesis |
| Render to master | Render a composition to a finished file — timeline exports, shorts, and each auto-clip | 10 per render |
| Audio mastering (FX) | Real studio processing (compress, limit, reverb…) applied to a clip | 5 per run |
| Video upscale | Lift a clip or render to a higher resolution tier | 8 per run |
| Background removal | Cut the subject out of an image with transparency | 4 per image |
| Vectorize | Trace a raster logo into a clean vector file | 4 per trace |
| AI writing and analysis | Templated copywriting, AI-written captions, caption translation, highlight detection, story mode, long-video prepare, the canvas assistant | 3 per run |
| Social publishing | Publish or schedule one post to a connected social account | 2 per post |

A few things worth knowing:

- **Fan-out operations bill per unit of work.** Producing a film charges one video generation **per shot** in the plan; Auto-Clips charges one render **per clip** it cuts; a logo batch charges one image **per concept actually delivered**. Workflow runs meter each step the same way, and show an estimated credit range (and whether your balance covers it) before you start.
- **Plain speech-to-text captions are free — AI caption work is not.** Transcribing your own recording into captions still draws no credits. But the AI captioning features do: having the AI *write* styled captions for a clip, translate captions into another language, or rank a transcript's best moments each cost 3 credits per run.
- **Rendering is live and metered.** The render pipeline is deployed and producing real files, so every finished render — a timeline export, a vertical short, each auto-clip — draws its 10 credits when metering is on.
- **You're warned before you spend, not after.** When metering is on and your balance is too low for the next run, CoreReflex stops the operation up front and tells you how many credits it needed versus what you had. You then top up or upgrade and try again.
- **A run that starts is a run that's charged.** Credits are drawn when an operation begins, not refunded if a provider fails midway. Failures before the work starts (bad input, feature not yet provisioned on your instance) are rejected without charging wherever the product can know in advance.
- **The balance is shared by your workspace.** Anyone on your team draws from the same pool, so a single busy batch can move the meter for everyone.
- **Video persona renders are the priciest** at 120 credits each, followed by primary-engine video at 100 per shot. Persona Studio and voice cloning are live as Pro workflows; the final talking-head render needs the persona lip-sync engine to be provisioned on your instance. See [Coming Soon](coming-soon.md) for the current engine status.

What's *not* metered: editing on the timeline, color grading, transitions, markers, keyframe animation, the diagram and design boards, proofing, and the whole client-operations suite.

You can always see your current plan, credit balance, and subscription status under **Settings → Plan** in the dashboard.

## Credit confirmation

To make sure you never spend credits by accident, CoreReflex **asks you to confirm before an action that costs credits actually runs.** Click *Generate*, *Render*, or *Upscale* and a small pop-up appears showing you the credit cost of that specific action — *"This uses image generation — 5 credits. Confirm to proceed."* Click **Confirm** and it runs; cancel and nothing is spent.

This is a gentle guardrail, not a paywall — a one-click acknowledgement so you always know what a click will cost before it costs it.

### Every model run uses credits — including CoreReflex's own

It's worth being clear about this: **every AI model run costs credits, including the ones that run on CoreReflex's own infrastructure.** CoreReflex's in-house models (like CoreReflex Voice) are *far cheaper* than the premium vendor models — but "cheaper" isn't "free." Running any model does real work on real hardware, so any generation draws from your balance. The confirmation pop-up shows you the exact number either way, so there's never a surprise.

### It shows up across every studio

The confirmation appears on **paid actions everywhere in CoreReflex** — image generation, video generation, voiceover and music, AI writing, upscaling, background removal, vectorizing, and the rest. Free actions (editing on the timeline, mixing audio, browsing your files, and everything else that doesn't run a model) never trigger it.

### Turning it off — for yourself or your whole team

If you'd rather not confirm every time, you can switch it off in **Settings → Credit confirmation**, at two levels:

- **Just for you** — turn confirmation off for your own account only. Everyone else on the team keeps their own setting.
- **For the whole workspace** — set the default for every member at once. (An individual can still turn it back on for themselves.)

Because turning confirmation off changes a spending safeguard for the team, **disabling it is recorded in your workspace's audit log** — a simple, honest record of who relaxed the setting and when. Turning it back on isn't logged; only the "off" switch is.

> **Owners and admins are never charged credits.** The person who owns or administers the workspace can't be metered or locked out of their own platform, whatever the balance — so credit confirmation is really about protecting a team's shared balance from accidental spend by its members.

## Storage: how much you can keep

Everything you upload and everything CoreReflex generates for you — footage, renders, images, logos, audio, brand photos — lives in your account's storage.

### What each plan includes

| Plan | Included storage |
|---|---|
| Free | 1 GB |
| Pro | 25 GB |
| Ultra | 100 GB |
| Enterprise | 500 GB |

Purchased **storage packs** (50 GiB → 1 TiB) stack on top of any plan, permanently — see [One-time add-ons](#one-time-add-ons-extra-storage-and-extra-credits).

### How usage is counted

Storage is counted **per asset**: each file you upload or generate is recorded with its size, and your usage is the running total across **every workspace under your account** — it's one shared pool, like credits. Uploads are counted from the size your app declares when the upload starts, and generated files are counted as they land.

### The storage meter

Open **Brand Studio** (in the editor). The left panel has a **Storage** section showing your usage in plain terms — for example, `3.2 GB of 25 GB` — with a progress bar, plus **Add storage** and **Add credits** buttons for one-time top-ups.

### What happens at the limit

When your account is at or over its storage limit, generation flows that store new brand assets are refused with a clear "Storage limit reached — add storage to keep generating" message — nothing is silently dropped or deleted. To get moving again, delete assets you no longer need, buy a +50 GB bundle, or upgrade to a plan with more included storage. (Individual uploads are also capped per file — very large single files are rejected before they upload.)

---

## Welcome credits (one-time, if your instance grants them)

Free includes **0 credits per month**, so with metering switched on a brand-new account would otherwise hit "out of credits" on its very first generation. To avoid that, an instance can be configured to seed each new account with a **one-time welcome grant** at signup.

This is a signup bonus, not an allowance — it lands once, it does not refill monthly, and it sits on the same shared balance as everything else. If your instance has it switched on, the amount is stated on the [pricing page](https://corereflex.com/pricing); if the pricing page says nothing about welcome credits, the grant is off on your instance and the monthly numbers are the whole story. The grant is idempotent, so it can never be claimed twice by the same account.

## One-time add-ons: extra storage and extra credits

**Packs** are one-time purchases available on **any plan** — including Free — whenever checkout is configured. They stack and do not change your subscription tier.

### Credit packs

| Pack id | Credits | Catalog list |
|---|---|---|
| `credits-1k` | 1,000 | $50 |
| `credits-5k` | 5,000 | $225 |
| `credits-10k` | 10,000 | $400 |
| `credits-25k` | 25,000 | $900 |

Credits land on the shared workspace balance (on top of plan-included credits).

### Storage packs

| Pack id | Capacity | Catalog list |
|---|---|---|
| `storage-50` | 50 GiB | $10 |
| `storage-200` | 200 GiB | $35 |
| `storage-500` | 500 GiB | $75 |
| `storage-1t` | 1 TiB | $120 |

Storage packs are **permanent** — they raise your account limit and survive plan changes. Buy two `storage-50` packs for +100 GiB.

### Buying a pack, step by step

1. Open **Settings → Plan** in the dashboard (or Brand Studio → Storage for the quick top-up).
2. Choose a **credit pack** or **storage pack**.
3. Stripe-hosted checkout takes a one-time payment (not a subscription).
4. On success you're returned to the app; credits or storage apply automatically.

Add-on grants are idempotent — if the payment confirmation is delivered twice behind the scenes, you are never double-granted or double-charged.

> Add-on purchases (like all checkout) require a **verified email address** on your account. If you haven't verified yet, do that first from the verification email — you can resend it from the app.

---

## A note on export limits

Each tier states a monthly export allowance — 5 on Free, 100 on Pro, 500 on Ultra, unlimited on Enterprise. Today this is best read as the **policy of each plan** rather than a hard wall the product slams shut on: the allowance is part of how the tiers are defined and is what you're buying, but tighter enforcement on the export action is still being finished. Treat the numbers above as the intended limits for each plan.

## How billing is turned on (the honest version)

CoreReflex is **self-hosted**, and billing is built to be **inert by default**. That has two practical consequences worth being upfront about:

1. **Subscriptions, add-ons, and checkout run on Stripe**, and they only come online once Stripe has been configured for the deployment. Until then, the upgrade/checkout path simply isn't available and the studio reports billing as not yet enabled.
2. **Credit metering is a separate switch.** Even with Stripe configured, the meter only draws down credits once metering is explicitly turned on. With it off, the expensive operations above run without charging credits — so a deployment can run the full product for free until the operator decides to switch metering on.

In short: nothing is metered or charged unless the operator of your CoreReflex instance has both connected Stripe and turned metering on. The studio's connections view shows the current state in plain language — whether billing is unconfigured, configured but with metering off, or fully live.

When billing is live, upgrading creates a Stripe checkout session for the plan you pick; on success your account moves to that plan, your included credits are granted, and monthly renewals refill them. Cancelling a subscription returns the account to Free. Credit and storage grants are idempotent — a Stripe webhook that retries (a duplicate "subscription started" or "invoice paid" event) will not double-credit your account.

> Because CoreReflex is self-hosted and white-label, exact pricing, currency, and whether billing is enabled at all are set by whoever runs your instance. This page describes how the tiers, credit, and storage systems work; it does not quote a price.

---

## Subscribing and managing your subscription

Everything below lives under **Settings → Plan** in the dashboard. The Plan card always shows your current tier, whether exports are watermarked, public vs. private mode, and — when metering is on — your live credit balance.

> Checkout, the billing portal, and add-on purchases all require a **verified email address** on your account.

### Upgrading

If you're on **Free** and checkout is available (Stripe is configured), the Plan card shows an **Upgrade to Pro** button. Clicking it sends you to a Stripe-hosted checkout page for the Pro plan; once payment succeeds, you're returned to the studio, your account moves to Pro, and your included credits are granted automatically. (Enterprise is reached the same way — your operator can point the upgrade at the Enterprise price.) Nothing is charged or changed until you complete Stripe checkout.

### Manage subscription (the self-service portal)

Once you're on a paid plan, the Plan card replaces "Upgrade" with **Manage subscription**. This opens your **Stripe Billing Portal** — Stripe's own hosted, secure surface where you can:

- Update your payment method
- View and download past invoices and receipts
- Change or cancel your plan

You don't leave anything behind in CoreReflex: the portal is rendered by Stripe, and when you cancel there, Stripe tells CoreReflex to return your account to Free at the end of the period. The button only appears once you actually have a Stripe customer on file (i.e., you've subscribed at least once); before that there's nothing to manage.

---

## Account settings

The same **Settings** page is your home for the rest of your account, independent of billing:

- **Display name.** Update the name shown on your profile. Saved instantly.
- **Change password.** Enter your current password and a new one (minimum 12 characters; it must differ from the current password). When you change it, every other active session is signed out — so if a device was logged in somewhere you no longer trust, changing your password cuts it off. Your current session stays signed in.
- **Sign out.** Ends your session on this device.

### Forgot your password?

If you can't sign in, the sign-in screen has a **Forgot password?** link. Enter your email and CoreReflex sends a reset link that's valid for **30 minutes**. For your security, the confirmation message is the same whether or not an account exists for that address — it never reveals who has an account. The reset link is single-use and self-invalidating: the moment your password changes (or the link expires), it stops working, and completing a reset signs out all existing sessions.

> **Email delivery is a deployment setting.** Reset emails only actually send once your operator has configured an email provider for the instance. Until then, the request still succeeds quietly (no token is ever exposed in a response), but the link is written to the server log rather than delivered. If you requested a reset and nothing arrived, your operator may not have email wired up yet — ask them, or use Change password from inside Settings if you're still signed in.

---

## Troubleshooting

- **"Out of credits — N needed, M left."** Your balance can't cover the run. Buy a +1,000 credit top-up (Brand Studio → Storage → **Add credits**), upgrade your plan, or wait for your monthly renewal to refill included credits. Nothing was charged for the stopped run.
- **"Storage limit reached — add storage to keep generating."** Your account is over its storage limit. Delete assets you no longer need, buy a storage pack, or upgrade.
- **"This is a Pro feature — upgrade to enable."** You're on Free and touched a Pro surface (client ops, Brand Studio, Proofing, Personas, KB search). Upgrade from Settings → Plan.
- **No Upgrade button on the Plan card.** Checkout isn't configured on your instance yet — billing is inert until your operator connects Stripe. The connections view says so explicitly.
- **Checkout or portal refuses with a verification message.** Verify your email first — the verification email can be resent from the app.
- **"Being provisioned and is not available yet."** A few operations (audio mastering, upscale, background removal, vectorize, long-video prepare) run on a dedicated processing worker. If your instance hasn't deployed it yet, the product says so clearly **and does not charge credits** for the attempt.

---

## Choosing a plan

- **Just evaluating, or producing the occasional clip?** Start on **Free**. You get the whole pipeline; expect a watermark, up to 5 exports a month, and 1 GB of storage.
- **Delivering finished, unbranded video and running a book of clients?** **Pro** removes the watermark, raises exports to 100 and storage to 25 GB, switches on CRM, booking, tasks, automations, Brand Studio, Proofing, and Personas, and includes 1,000 credits.
- **Need work to stay private, exports uncapped, and a bigger library?** **Enterprise** adds private generation, unlimited exports, 500 GB of storage, and 10,000 included credits.

Either way, one-time **storage packs** (50 GiB–1 TiB) and **credit packs** (1k–25k) are available on any plan when you need more without changing tiers.
