What keyframe animation is

Timing and spacing

A simple way to practice

  1. Animate one property at a time. Move a shape across the frame with two position keyframes. Watch it. It will feel robotic. That is linear interpolation.
  2. Add an ease-out. The same move now reads as deliberate. This one change teaches you more than any tutorial.
  3. Tune the timing. Try the move in 10 frames, then 30. Notice how length changes the personality.
